Frenkie De Jong has been at the centre of many headlines over the past few weeks with intense speculation linking him to a move to Manchester United with fans eagerly awaiting a reunion with Erik Ten Haag. Reports from Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein suggest that the red devils could get their dream signing as they reported “Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement of €65m + €20m add-ons but there is still work to do on payments and structure”. Gerard Romero claims that there is now a belief within Barcelona that the Dutch international with leave Xavi’s side.
However in contrast to the reports earlier this week, when Barcelona's president Laporta was questioned about De Jong, he replied, "There are many clubs that want him, not just Man United. We have no intention of selling him, he wants to stay”. “I'm going to do everything to keep Frenkie”. It has also been reported by Fabrizio Romano that personal terms have never been discussed yet and Frenkie’s priority has always been to stay at Camp Nou. A lot more is still to come in this transfer saga!
