Jesse Lingard has come to a decision that he will leave Manchester United in the summer as a free agent!
He decided with his entourage that he wants to run his contract down, due to lack of game time, and negotiations never seriously progressed over a new deal.
Lingard was set to join Newcastle on loan on Deadline Day, as he finally agreed on wage terms, and Rangnick gave his consent to the deal. But the board blocked the move, due to United already losing four players in attacking positions, and they clearly weren't willing to sign anyone, because they want to plan for the new manager. West Ham and Spurs were also interested, but United were reluctant to let him go to any top-four rival. These three clubs will certainly be interested in the summer, amongst others, as he certainly has some suitors abroad as well.
He impressed on loan at West Ham and clearly thrives for teams in and around mid-table, or fighting for the Europa League and Conference League. He is a quality player who just wasn't quite good enough for United, but whatever club gets him, will be getting their hands on a tidy and polished number 10, for free!
